What is hymenoplasty?

Hymenoplasty, or surgical reconstruction of the hymen, is a procedure that can reconstruct the hymen, allowing for an experience perceived as that of virginity. If remnants of the hymen are present, they can be brought together using simple sutures (temporary hymenoplasty). If the hymen is completely gone, it must be completely reconstructed by bringing together flaps of vaginal mucosa (permanent hymenoplasty).
