Buttock surgery—its reputation as a difficult and painful procedure might explain this.
After breast surgery, buttock surgery is the latest trend in cosmetic procedures for both women and men, perhaps driven by the resurgence of voluptuous and shapely figures, which are all the rage across the Atlantic.
It is also a subspecialty within the field of cosmetic surgery. Very few plastic surgeons know how to perform buttock implants correctly (intramuscularly) or offer modernbuttock lipofilling techniques(re-injection of fat cells harvested from elsewhere via liposuction), the ultimate version of which is theBrazilian Butt Lift.
These three techniques are currently the only reliable methods for achieving a natural buttock augmentation.
I became interested in these fascinating buttock contouring techniques quite early on, more than seven years ago. Realizing that the buttocks were part of the silhouette of the back and thighs was a revelation. My buttock liposuction procedures have become increasingly focused on the “buttocks and surrounding area.”
I thus identified the incision sites for liposuctionthat could sculpt this body shape: two sites on the back and two on the waist are sufficient.
My participation in plastic surgery conferences and workshops on buttock implants led by the renowned Brazilian plastic surgeon Dr. Raul Gonzalez, followed by my thorough reading of his book, introduced me to this unique yet fascinating surgical procedure.
Since then, this area of cosmetic buttock surgery has become my sole focus and a true area of hyper-specialization. Driven by the growing demand from both women and men seeking a beautiful butt, I have sought to furtherrefinemy technique.
The Body-Jet, a device specifically designed for lipofilling, has allowed me to improve several key aspects of my practice: procedure speed, the amount of fat harvested and filtered, and the safety and reliability of the injected fat. It has also reduced patients’ postoperative recovery time (less swelling) and minimized pain.
By using a variety of buttock implant lines—Brazilian (Silimed), German (Polytech), and French (Sebbin and high-projection biconvex implants)—I am able to determine the best option for my patients’ buttocks.
These buttock implants are selected in the same way as breast implants, taking into account the patient's existing body measurements, namely the diameter of the buttocks, weight, and height.
There’s no point in looking for something extraordinary if you want something natural!
Currently, both buttock implant surgery and lipofilling are performed:
The implant is most often placed in the muscle through a single, short incision between the buttocks.
To create a more balanced silhouette that accentuates the buttocks.
